Hello, New to this forum.
I used the old OTF back in my college days circa 2002.
I recently inherited a bell section for a Holton tr181 that belonged to a former private teacher in my area.
It does not come with a slide.
I have contacted most of the regional repair centers looking for a used slide for this horn but have had no
luck as of yet.
I am hoping that someone here may have access to a boneyard or knows someone that has a slide that belonged to a broken bell section or if anyone here has a suggestion of what I could to under a reasonable budget to acquire a slide.
Thanks for the read and hopefully I can figure something out.

Re: Holton TR181 questions
I don’t think a Bach 50 slide fits directly, but they pop up sometimes on eBay. Having the bell-side tenon swapped out for a Bach part should be reasonable along with the price for a Bach 50 slide.
Or if you have a problem and like to buy more than you have room for like I used to then finding a nice single or dependent Holton so you can swap slides and bells for variety sounds fun to me!

Hello, I have a Holton 183 slide that could work for you. I believe it is the same slide as the 181. It is the same as my 169, but I don’t think I can guarantee anything with Holtons. If you want to send me an email from my contact link I can send you some pictures.

Re: Holton TR181 questions
Loads of options, if you take it to a good workshop. Stewbones43, and I wish there was a way of tagging members, had a TR181 bell section aligned to a Benge slide, but had it converted to open-wrap. Unfortunately, the bell was damaged in transit, so he now has a Rath bell, with a Holton valve block, but open wrap, with a Benge slide, and it's a great horn. I've played it alongside my stock TR181, and it resonates so much better.
