I have an F lever made of aluminum that was bent too far out for my thumb to comfortably reach the wooden thumb paddle. Any chance I can remove the wooden piece from the lever, heat it up, straighten it out, and re-bend in a different spot?? What can possibly go wrong?

The aluminum will probably snap, even with heat. Unfortunately...
Maybe get another one made from nickel or steel rod?

And SNAP it did! But because it was so long to begin with I was able to use what was left and re-bend to the proper length. But YES a new lever will be in my future.
