Best "time passes" tune?
Sitting here at my alma mater, waiting for my ensemble class to start. Back at the scene of the crime after 35 years.
Best "time passes" tune:
Paul Simon's Still Crazy After All These Years or Willie's Ain't It Funny How Time Slips Away?

Best "time passes" tune?
I've always liked "As Time Goes By" (or the Oktoberfest version: "A Stein Goes By").

Do not have time now but Willie is a hell of a song writer as is Paul...I will try to add later.
Willie on this one.
Check out youtube:
'Angels Flying To Close to The Ground'
'Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain'
'Always On My Mind'
Search Willie and Ann Richards in their early years( former Governor of Texas...RIP ), both quite handsome in their own right.

I kind of miss Ann Richards. Her take on George Bush still sticks in my mind ( third-base, homerun etc. ) I'm reminded of it often.

Best "time passes" tune?
Oh, don't get me started down that track.
Actually, I heard from a recent survey that older people are the happiest. It's an upward curve from the age of 50. But I have been looking at recording some backings for nostalgia videos and have a short list of songs to use. These are some of the best tunes and versions:
In My Life by The Beatles

Time And The River by Nat King Cole:

Sentimental Journey Les Brown with Doris Day

Forever Young Bob Dylan, or preferably Joan Baez:

There's that staple of beginning band methods which is actually a fairly old American tune:
Long, Long Ago
Long, Long Ago

Ah, The Zombies. They used to play our intervals back in St Albans in the early 1960s when I was with The Bodega Jazz Band. And my sister used to go out with one of them.
How on earth did you know about that tune?

I think it would be harder to find someone who doesn't know that song...

I think I saw some early twerking, albeit quite short.

Yeah, I forgot they had some overseas success with that tune. It did not even chart in Britain! I liked the guy who wrote it because Rod was a very jazz-influenced keyboard player.
The Zombies tend to be known as one-hit wonders with their "She's Not There". But they took advantage of the "British Invasion" period in the US and had a very popular tour just because of 'where' they were from.

Never! Those upstanding boys from St Albans Grammar School would never encourage anything as vulgar as twerking.
