Legends Of Brass Tom Smith model

Post by dukesboneman »

I ran across this mouthpiece quite by accident one night surfing around.
The Legends of Brass Tom Smith mouthpieces 1 & 2
They only make the 2 trombone pieces everything else is Trumpet.
I took a chance, and have been pleasantly surprised.
I bought the #1 model. The rim is incredibly comfortable with just enough "bite" so that I can grab the notes
It`s deeper than I normally use but it`s very easy to play with a good upper range
It`s advertised as being around a 6 1/2AL size which normally don`t work for me but.........
IMHO a really great mouthpiece. I didn`t know if anyone had run across this yet and wanted to share

I've got one of those! I think it rather resembles a large trumpet mouthpiece. They play quite well.

Anyone have both? I'm curious to the difference between the #1 having a "flatter" rim vs #2 having a "semi-flat" rim. Or is #2 just a smaller size?
