Jennifer Wharton's trombone quartet Bonegasm
How many t-bone groups are lead by the bass bone player? Jennifer is a New York pro bass trombone player and she has three CDs out of her trombone quartet with rhythm section called Bonegasm. That her hubby John Fedchock is in the group doesn't hurt! I heard them live the other night and was blown away. You can hear clips of the group on her website https://jenniferwharton.com/bonegasm/ . Enjoy!
I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are still missing!

I listened to Bonegasm on the way to rehearsal this evening. Some very fine playing.
I recall Ms Wharton writing an article about her summer playing in Disneyland. She’s come along way since then.
I have to ask: does anybody know the gear she’s using?

Jennifer sounded incredible in person. I feel like bass trombone, even more so than other brass instruments, is something which sounds exponentially better in person vs. even the most well done recordings. Glad I got to hear her live.
All of the other players were great as well and, not that it's a competition, Alan Ferber was the standout to my ears. Wow. I've been digging into his other projects the last few days which I had always been aware of but never checked out.

Hers had a screw-bell conversion done to it as well, if that detail matters to anyone.dbwhitaker wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 8:26 am From: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jennifer-wharton-3a6a01209:Jennifer is an XO Professional Brass artist and plays their 1240-LT bass trombone.

Jenn is a unique and interesting person. I have met her a few times at ITFs and follow her on FB. She basically takes no crap off of anybody while also playing circles around them. John came to town and was a guest artist with our big band a couple of years ago. I think it was one of his first post COVID trips. He polished off a plate of turkey and dressing at out local diner an hour before the concert. I was impressed. Then he bought beers for the bone section afterwards. Good fun!

I had a short chat with her at the gig. I told her I was a bass bone player and came to hear her, not that guy named John. She laughed and gave me a high five!

Have taken a couple lessons with Jenn in the past. Terrific player, teacher, and human being. Also, she and John's dogs are adorable.

Jen is amazing and the group kicks ass. She and John are wonderful people, too.
