King waterkeys

Post by davek »

I have a Mid-60's King 3b. Last year I had some slide work done including replacing the slide crook. My repair shop could not find a King waterkey to replace the one there so used something different. The one they used kind of sticks up more vertically than the original King one which is not my favorite. Are King waterkeys still hard to find ? and if one is found, does it involve de-soldering the bracket the waterkey attaches to?

King trombone waterkeys are easily available from multiple suppliers and are the same across pretty much all of their trombone line. They could have reinstalled the original water key.

Yes, it would require solder work.

Thanks David
For some reason I’m not seeing your response (or my post) in the forum. Weird. I’m logged in. I dug around and finally found my post and your answer. I really don’t know why he didn’t just use the original. I will take it in to a more local guy and have it done in a few months.
thanks for your answer!
