Leadsheet for New York, New York
I'm really not sure whether it's legal to ask this here (or at all), but I'm working on a condensed arrangement of Theme from New York, New York, and I'm looking for just perhaps a leadsheet from the original arrangement, or copy of the piano or bass part for the tune.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Piano parts are usually available at music stores. It is still under copyright. Only the one that goes "East Side, West Side, all around the town" is Public Domain.

Good call Matt, I'd forgotten I actually have the app! I ended up working it mostly out by ear, but I'll definitely make use of iReal Pro in the future.

for the future, if you want to see bass lines and instrument parts, just about every moderately-known tune has a MIDI version to be found somewhere on the web that duplicates some recording of it. No chord notation but that can be deduced from the ensemble.

I thankfully was able to easily find a really good full-band MIDI version of the tune and work from that. Not sure of the legality of such, but then again, if it's so questionable it probably wouldn't be so easily accessible. Plus it's for private use, more or less, non-montized.
Thanks for the great tips, guys! I was able to make a nice short arrangement of Cottontail using a similar method, but I had to write some new parts onto it. Lots of fun!
