Hello!
I've seen some trombones with a black inner side of the bell. For ex. the B.A.C. Custom Voyager.
Is this a black lacquer? or there is a way to turn a "regular" bell a black one with other procedures?
It would be for a 3B I have.
Thanks!

There is a black lacquer.
There is also a black oxide treatment for copper and copper alloys (which will need some kind of protective coating afterward). I believe Inderminen used the black oxide treatment for their black bells.
If you decide to try a DIY, watch out. Too thick a coating of a lacquer will dull the sound. Uncontrolled black oxide treatment will reduce the metal thickness.
If you decide this is what you really want, get help from a tech and a professional in these kinds of treatments.

Re: black inner side of the bell?
I have seen black lacquered trombones, but I think the BAC trombones have a treatment done to the bell that turns it black. Then they leave the black intact on the inside of the bell, while buffing it off the outside, as far as I can tell. I also have seen trombones they rebuilt that are like that, like this one:

I'm pretty sure you'd need to completely refinish the bell to have it the way BAC does it.

Thanks Bruce! I'm not gonna try a DIY... jejejeje just wanted to know the different options available.
I think I'd prefer the lacquer option, it seems less harmful for the bell.
