I currently have a Bonna hard case for my bass. Due to some neck surgery I need to find something lighter. I do not plan on flying with this so size is not a major factor. However weight is (and slide/bell protection). My bass has dual Thayers and a 9.5 in bell (XO 1240).
Any recommendations?
thanks

For ultra lightness, a french style gig bag is hard to beat. I use one for my 613. But other than the slide being in a nice holder, it has very little protection.

Good bags. Cordura is lighter than leather by a healthy amount.

The BAM cases are very light and also reasonably protective, and they have backpack straps.
