Thank you for the turn-on to your podcast. I dug the Curtis Fuller one this afternoon. I'll catch up by listening to the others in successive afternoons.

My personal favorite is South American Cookin'. Love what they do with Besame Mucho. It inspired me to do a partial transcription for my own enjoyment. His double-tonguing is amazing. I hate him. lol

Thank you so much for listening I'm glad you enjoyed the pod we try to do an episode weekly. And ya man I've transcribed his handling of the melody on Besame Mucho that album is a hidden gem he pairs nicely with Zoot Sims. His tone on that album is absolutely incredible.

Another great Curtis side as a sideman is the live hit at Sweet Basil from the mid 80’s Art Farmer/Benny Golson Jazztet-Real Time.

The album “Jazz Mood” by Yusef Lateef, which features a rabat(centra Asian plucked lute-like instrument) and small percussion. It’s on this album that his sound seems most at home to my ears. He and Yusef blend wonderfully together on all the melodies.

One of my favorite Curtis albums is Benny Golson's "Groovin' with Golson", a great quintet blowing session with Art Blakey, Paul Chambers, and Ray Bryant:

My two favorite solos, though, are the ones on "Blue Train" with Coltrane, and "It's All Right With Me" on "Meet the Jazztet."

This is a good one I have this Vinyl picked it up in a record store didn't know about it till I bought it up but a lot of good burning stuff on there. Definitely a nice deep take.

As others have mentioned, Caravan (with Art Blakey), Two Bones, and Cabin in the Sky are awesome. To add some names I don't think I've seen here, I love Mosaic (with Art Blakey) Blues-ette, and New Trombone.

I have New Trombone on vinyl that I love, also a re-recording of Bluesette from the early '90s. Stable Mates with Yusef Lateef is a favorite also.
