Just about my favourite album of all time , so far ahead of it's time  (1979 !!!!!! ) here's 'Overture' featuring so many names I can't list them except maybe Jaco on bass ..... who I'm pretty sure this track was written for.

And... then may be the hippest trombone player of the 70's, Raul de Souza covers it on his LP 'Don't Ask My Neighbours'

They sure don't make em' like this any more in todays  world of blandness ................ :-((

Enjoy

Yeah! ....great taste, my man!

This is one of my 'desert-island' disks of all time.

Truly exceptional, isn't it? Great musicians, great music, etc. etc..... a great variety of styles, and all composed and orchestrated in the way that only Michel Colombier could have done.

So sad that he died in the prime of his career.

Do you know his album 'Wings'? (....gotta' keep telling the world about it!)

We can thank Herb Alpert for recognising the beautiful talents of Colombier and for encouraging this recording.

Michel Colombier.... he was the true Mozart of our time. He composed for film, dance, shows, theatre, live acts, etc. etc. and wasn't afraid to use synths and samplers to the most artistic of their abilities.

His horn-section writing also influenced everyone is the pop/commercial world.
