I talked to someone who wanted to change their 62H to a different kind of leadpipe threads. I assumed the cork barrel assembly on those is all one solid piece, including the threaded receiver, which would make it very difficult to swap out. But I haven't actually taken one of the modern ones apart, so I thought I'd ask if anyone here knows for sure whether the threaded ring part is machined as part of the cork barrel, or is a separate soldered-on piece. Yes, The current production Conn cork barrel is a single machined piece.

The best solution for someone looking to use a Edwards pipe with a Conn is to use something like the Instrument Innovations bi-thread adapter? Are there any other possibilities?

Changing the Conn part to accept a bi-thread receiver is a pretty involved job, including having to machine at least one new part of the assembly, and rebuilding the entire upper inner slide. The other option would be to use the screw in adapter, but that adds noticeable length to the receiver side of the slide.
