Yeah, thanks for the clarification. Flash photography makes lacquer problems look worse than they are.
Here are some pix of the Kanstul, no flash, natural light. It's a year and a half old, only one mute ding, but otherwise in beautiful shape. It's a great instrument, great sound. Bronze (rose) bell, TIS, wide slide, big CR valves inline, Bb/F/Gb/D tuning, open wrap, minimal bracing, nice protec case. Yellow brass cork barrels, screw in leadpipes (takes Shires thread). The TIS and valves work great. Being a tenor player mainly, it turns out to be a little too much horn for me, so I've downsized to a smaller bass. I bought this new from Kanstul.
May be interested in a trade for the 1662i. If you have an interesting modular 525 or 508/525 with a valve. Or possibly a smaller dependent bass, like a 62h, Yamaha ybl622, or a nice duo gravis with split triggers, or a Holton tr180...
