"Better" valve trombone?

Saw this Besson while browsing eBay. The shorter design must make it less front heavy. The more gradual tubing bends probably make it more free blowing. Seems to be well thought out. Anyone ever play one? Just curious.

I'm sure it's awful.

Possibly made by Kanstul back when they were making some stencils for Besson.

That sort of pattern has been around for a long time; you'll find quite few examples over on horn-u-copia.net. It does seem that the balance would be better, and the wider crooks might be beneficial, yet the "standard" pattern is much more common.
Looking at eBay, I see an Amati in that style for $499 (US) obo (
https://www.ebay.com/itm/178027498663), plus some brand new ones from India that can be had for a buy-it-now of $219 (US) plus import duty (
https://www.ebay.com/itm/318214462543) in plain brass or $239 (US) plus import duty in fancy colors.
EDIT
I see Raymond Music (braymond here on the forum) has one of the Shortbones listed for sale on their website:
https://www.raymondmusic.com/shop/Brass ... 966872.htm
It's got the shorter form factor for the valve section, along with the trademark Shortbones compact bell, but the valve slides are narrow. Still, you'd be the only kid on the block with one.

I think it is a UK made model as the lowest inscription on the bell says "Made in England"
Pretty rare but I think somewhat over-priced.
