Help me understand the Rath "00" series

From the company's own descriptions it's hard to tell if the Rath 00 series (100, 300, 400, 900) are supposed to be good or not. Are they actually pretty nice horns but Rath doesn't want to take away from players looking at the modular models? Or are they compromises that deliver an okay horn that would eventually be found to be limiting?

I think the way to look at them is that they are less expensive, made from imported parts/labor, and with fewer options than the higher end line.

Similar to Shires Q, lesser Chinese models designed to be cheaper. Just not compatible with real Rath in this case.

I wouldn't say lesser. Yes, made in China but to a very high standard and with excellent quality control. I have yet to get a 00 line Rath with quality issues.
And to me they play very nicely. Probably a bit on the heavier side of the spectrum but I'd have no issues taking an R400, R300 or R900 on a gig. I'll have to try the R100 ASAP.
