I find it quite interesting to hear Watrous and Mangelsdorff next to each other.
Enjoy

This was almost the first album I picked out by myself when I started collecting at 12 or 13 years old.

Super inspiring to a that young kid to hear so many things the trombone could do, to see a packaging that made the instrument seem important and to hear the quality of the recording- most of my other jazz albums at the time were 1950's Blue Note- great albums but not top notch sound a lot of the time.

Learned a few of the tunes by ear off that record.

That song is Kai and Jiggs. But there's a duet of Watrous and Mangelsdorff together. The album is great. Have listened to it many times

I was sure M n jangles was Kai and Bill. Kind of a tribute to their relationship when Bill was just getting started in New York and Kai brought him into his big band.

I wanted to post the playlist for the album not just one song. Sorry if that was confusing
This song is Kai and Bill. Bill told me once Kai‘s nickname for him was Jangles because he was always dancing on stage while playing.

Thanks for posting this album! I lost track of my original vinyl years ago amidst many moves.

Still sounds as inspiring as when I first heard it!
