Help identify old horn

Old Conn with half-moon engraving on yellow brass bell and nickel silver fittings/trim. 7" bell. Ser # from 1940, no visible model number.

Hand slide brace is very thin, sleeves are different lengths. Tuning slide crook looks like Conn dual radius shape, but hand slide crook looks like a King single radius.

I'd guess a 4h or 30h with a custom hand slide. It doesn't have the extra gusset on the main slide brace that a 24h has.

Also, the slide lock isn't knurled, so that narrows it down some. Slide outers look like rose brass

With the narrow brace and round crook, the brace has to be custom, but the owner claims it hasn't been modified in 40 years. What is this?

It's not a 12 (Coprion) or a 44.(vocabell) 20h is really rare. I'm surprised they didn't mention 24h. I guess I'm sticking with a 4h w/ modified slide.

The telling part is the slide grip area. Diff length sleeves, small brace no knurling on slide lock and the King ns crook, red brass outers.

that small brace is definitely not stock. also the barrel nickel and the oversleeves and slidelock nickel is noticeably different colors. I get the feeling this is a frankenslide.

Slide could have started as a 44H and had some updates from a previous owner. Those sockets look a lot like the standard 44H, just smaller. Like the cross brace from a 40B pasted in there.
