Yamaha Silent Brass - Removing Electronics

Hi Forum,
I'm wondering if anyone knows about disassembling an old Silent Brass mute to take out/replace the electronics and maybe have a bit of an experiment with it.
I've got an OG trombone silent brass (PM5) that is great as a practice mute, but the electronics have long since died - it always felt quite delicate. As a thought I considered whether it'd be worth opening it up and either taking out the electronics, see if it was repairable or even experiment with some modifications. I don't want to force it open just to satisfy my curiosity just yet, so does anyone know how it can be somewhat safely deconstructed?
Will
