Bach 19
I like the V-shaped cup of the Bach 19, but the cup diameter is too small for me. Is there a mouthpiece with a comparable V-shaped cup, but with a larger cup diameter?

You might consider Bob Reeves' Jay Friedman models available through BrassArk.

The Warburton two piece models (M and D cups, and also the ST cups for large bore) are quite V-shaped. The smallest size (15) is about like a 17 (smallest ST size, 10, is like a 6½AL rim), the largest (7) a 4, but with a .250" (.266" for ST) throat and your choice of backbore (1-6*, 1-3* for ST; star versions more open than standard equivalents).heinzgries wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 8:09 am I like the V-shaped cup of the Bach 19, but the cup diameter is too small for me. How big of a diameter are you looking for? I assume this is for small bore as well?

Giardinelli or Warburton are the answers here.
I did a post about the Bach 16 mouthpiece awhile back. It has an almost identical contour to the 19, but also to a Giardinelli 6D, Schilke 42B, and Yamaha 42B.
The Warburton or Giardinelli D cups will be the shape you want and you can just pick your diameter.

You might want to investigate AR Resonance mouthpieces (made in Italy).
The 25.4V+ 60 has a similar Cup I.D. to a Bach 6½A (25.4mm), a rather V-shaped Cup, with a 6.0mm Throat, coupled with the magic of the AR Resonance backbore.

You could also have a Bach 19 cut to use other rims. Easy to have a 19 cup with a 6.5+ rim that way.

Tanks for all the suggestions.Finetales wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2026 1:26 pm You could also have a Bach 19 cut to use other rims. Easy to have a 19 cup with a 6.5+ rim that way.
My 19 is a srew rim version. The 6.5 rim fits, but there is a little step between rim and cup. It doesn't seem to matter much. Perhabs i will sent it to Klier. He can make the step from the cup away, so it fits perfect.

I had sent a Bach 12 SC with a wide cushion rim to Schmidt in Markneukirchen. He turned the inner cup like the Bach 19 and wided the rim diameter of 26 mm. Great work, its perfect.
