King 3b leadpipe change

Post by JLivi »

I have 2 King 3b slides and one plays more open than the other. One thing I've been toying with is getting the worse blowing slide a makeover. One thing I'm thinking is replacing the lead pipe. I live close to OMalley was looking at their lead pipes. I'm hoping that replacing the lead pipe would change the way the horn blows.

I'm not sure if I should replace the lead pipe with another one of their King 3b lead pipes or if I should go for something a little more open. They said the Williams 6 will be one step more open. Does anyone have experience with these lead pipes? Is there another lead pipe I should be looking at for my 3b?

I haven't decided if I should try to have a similar playing 2nd slide or if I should make this other slide be slightly different. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't have any experience with lead pipes.
