Ok, have to throw in the towel….

Have to admit I play that Greg Black regular weight for some months. Reason is partly because Im never good in the extreme registers no matter mouthpiece. The Greg Black didnt make me better but more secure. And articulation is a little more comfortably. I did the change because I have to play the bass trombone solo “In the hall of the mountain king” It just made my feel in rehearsals more safe. The Greg Black has a big dark sound as said in other threads here. But not so easy to change colour of the sound. There is the MT Vernon superior. But feel of safety is important especially in front of public.
I recommend everyone to listen George Roberts playing this music. But also Doug Yeo with a wind band. He has a very nice articulation, legato and attack, and feel of that music.
