Live Recording - J. Sandström "Cantos de la Mancha"

I stumbled across this today on YouTube -- something I've wanted to see a complete video of for about 20 years. This is the shortened version of Sandström's 2nd trombone concerto, Don Quixote, a kind of theater piece with jumping and singing and lots of extended techniques. The full 30 minute concerto is undoubtedly a better piece, and the shortened version here cuts out the hauntingly beautiful slow movement towards the end of the piece, possibly one of the most beautiful things ever written for trombone. But what can you do. They did leave in the other slow movement which is also beautiful.
