The original Village Vanguard Orchestra album that this chart is recorded in is one of my favorite modern jazz recordings. Awesome stuff.
But here's a good argument for not restricting a great chart to just one great recording. The Frankfurt Radio Big Band here sounds different and also great!

Jim McNeely, who arranged this, just passed away last year. He was a brilliant composer and arranger, fabulous pianist and a great human being. RIP!
