Hi fellow trombonists!
I'm playing Fauré's requiem in March and was wondering what it's like because I don't get the sheet music for a while. Are there any tricky / exposed bits or is it generally okay...
thank you!

You have about 30 notes to play altogether. It's a lot of waiting around and then just playing those 30 notes and then waiting some more. The only potential difficulty is the tuning – some of the chords are more complex than just major or minor chords – so just keep your ears open. Then it's all just dosing the dynamics right and unified, crescendoing and decrescendoing really together as a section and together with the horns.
I played this recently on original instruments from Fauré's time (tiny trombones), which was a lot of fun. And also by far the most I've ever been paid per note played
