Does anyone know the specifications of the Jet Tone Buddy Morrow 2?
Cup diameter, throat diameter, backbore size. What Bach mouthpiece is it equivalent to?

PM your email and I'll send you a Jet Tone brochure from 1990. At that time JT produced a series of trombone mouthpieces. Later on, maybe 2010, they produced only the Buddy Morrow piece. I have no idea it the specs are the same for both. A friend had one so I did a visual comparison the my UG-D. BM has larger rim and shallower cup.

Most Jet tone rims are around a 12C size. I`ve had a couple Urbies and a Studio model (years ago) and they were all around a 12C size , Not sure about the Buddy sizes but they seem to like that size rim

I don't know the throat size but the rim on the Morrow 2 is closer to a 7C, .98" ish. I don't have mine anymore.

Tangent rant: this topic was discussed at length on the old Trombone Forum and some heavy hitting players gave a lot of insight about it. I'm still very sad/mad all of the good info on the old forum is now lost to history. A lot of those players are not around anymore and some of that info is stuff we will never get back. Like decades of music making info that's gone forever. Sucks.

I agree about all the lost information on the old Trombone Forum. A lot of great information lost to history.

Which BM2 is also a question imho, if you look at the original catalogue there was a choice of rim, either semi round or flat…. Also from talking to Rick Simerly who was close to Buddy and played an early BM2 for many years so maybe make contact with him ( if you have never heard him play you should) the production model bore little relationship to Buddy’s personal piece, Rick told me he tried Buddy’s and in his words “couldn’t control it” as it had again in his words “ huge throat and backbore”

I own an early BM1 semi round rim and it’s more 24.9mm rim and a slightly later BM2 flat rim, again similar size, I always preferred the 2 but both had interesting internal shape.

The more recent jet tone repro had no resemblance to either and was smaller at 12c size v narrow rim.

The Legends BM2 is made from scans of an original and list it at 25mm rim with “deep” cup

As I recall, by the time anyone realized that Matt K's scrape of TTF had missed a lot of the content, the forum was gone and its erstwhile proprietor unavailable.

So, Neobri and I both have backups, so there's a DR plan. Right now, the site is usable given our current popularity but adding bots in basically causes the whole site to act how it did back in Spring. I'm working on a way to get the site to be made available for bots and the like without negatively impacting us. There are a few options that I'm trying to weight the pros and cons of... I suspect I should have something maybe Q1 of next year to allow that.

I'm finished with my dive and couldn't find anything more than what I posted. There were a few more threads with Jet-Tone in the title, but they hadn't been archived.

Searching The Wayback Machine for something like this is easy, but tedious (at least the method I used was). I pulled up the archived copies of the index pages for the Mouthpieces section and searched for "Jet". The first couple index pages have a fair number of archived copies, with progressively few copies the further you go. Page 13 only has two archived copies, and from Page 14 on there's nothing. Maybe someone has a better method (easier or more effective)?

I measure the 2 as .980+ or 25mm (somewhere around there)
The rim is pretty round with the high point farther out than most, so it might feel bigger.
I think the rim style is "B"

I too have been using Wayback for information about gear from no-longer-available manufacturer websites but I had not thought about doing it for the old forum. Appreciate the suggestion.

When I was a kid, perhaps twelve or thirteen, Buddy Morrow was in the UK on tour. He was interviewed in a London music shop, and somehow I managed to be in the room. He did talk about equipment and his mouthpiece. Mindful that he was talking to a general audience, he was quite vague, but I do remember him saying his mouthpiece was what might be called a double cup. Just a passing mention.
