Christmas Quintet Recommendations
It's that time of year again.
Some of my favorite Christmas Quintet arrangements came from Wade Rackley (known to some as "The Elephant"). He has a couple dozen sacred and non-sacred tunes with playable yet different arrangements. Not sure how you get these. You might have to ask on the tuba forum.
What are your favorite Christmas quintet arrangements? (hint - prefer charts that can be bought in digital versions)

Gary Selecta’s arrangements for Wayne Bergeron’s After Hours Brass side are excellent:

No, I hadn't seen those before. Thanks for pointing them out. I had asked about brass quintets, but I need bone quartets as well. I bought his 4 pack and got the bonus album download.KWL wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 3:34 pm Have you looked at Gerry Pagano’s Christmas quartets?

Oh, of course, Ken! You always sneak past my radar. Seriously, thanks for posting those. I hadn't seen Gerrys quartets before. Oh, and sounded great at the WOBR last night! especially the VWilliams!
Those sound like fun. Not sure they'd work for my group, but they sound fun. I'm glad people are making stuff like this available. I hope they're making a few bucks doing it.Slydeguy wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 3:20 pm Gary Selecta’s arrangements for Wayne Bergeron’s After Hours Brass side are excellent:

Re: Christmas Quintet Recommendations
not to derail my own thread, but I came across this Bill Reichenbach site for tbone quartet Christmas music. Nice! We ought to do more to support trombonists as writers/arrangers. I'm going to buy a few of these.

Cherry Classics has caroling collections by Jeff Reynolds and Sonny Ausman to name two. Available for digital download. Kendor doesn't have downloads but the set of 10 carols for 5 trombones by Tommy Pederson are worth having in your library if you don't already have them.

I recently picked up some quintet stuff from Big Shiny Brass during their 50% off sale. The Christmas Survival Kit is pretty good to play through.

I have one free quintet one if anyone wants it - if Jingle Bells was written by Sousa.

Re: Christmas Quintet Recommendations
Frank Comstock has a book of carols arranged for 5 bones. Optional parts for bass, drums, mallet percussion, and I believe piano. There are also flugelhorn parts as a substitute for trombone.
