Are things getting so authentic performance now they’re doing Verdi and Donizetti with valve trombones?

There's a wonderful video on Facebook of the Royal Concertgebouw section playing Falstaff in the pit on valve trombones. One listen to that video and you'll wonder why we've ever allowed anything else for those works.

^ I remember that clip. I believe they were playing King 2B/3B valve trombones.
