Hey everyone,
I have the pleasure of releasing my debut album as a bandleader today. It's a duo record of trombone and vibraphone which to me is an absolutely incredible constellation of instruments.
This one was recorded three years ago and I'm very happy to have this been released today. Especially playing together with one of my closest friends (we know each other since we went to school together) is something that you can hear on this record. It's been released on nwog records, which is the label of the great trombonist Nils Wogram.
You can listen to it anywhere you want, this is one option:
Here's the first track of the album on YouTube:
Thanks for listening!

Nice playing and I like how you go between accompaniment and solo!

Thanks, John! Yeah, this is one of the big challenges in this line-up to have smooth transitions for the different roles that you have to cover. Much appreciated!

I hate to ask, but what horn are you playing?

I already listened to parts of it, but hope to find more time the next days. I really like it!
It's great music and great playing. But what I like the most is that it's not "just another jazz trombone plus some band or combo" thing, but a relatively unique setting.
And yes, of course we want to know what horn you played for the recording!

Haha no worries!
I played my Lätzsch Custom horn. It's mentioned on the backside of the physical copy

that one is a prototype of the .508 bore version of Lätzsch's own jazz trombone. Basically a 3B made by Lätzsch. Yellow brass (unlacquered), 8 inch bell. And I played a Doug Elliott mouthpiece setup on that but not entirely sure which one to be honest. Either XT104 D+ or E.

Thanks again, Markus! Much appreciated!
Yes, I really like this combination of instruments. And I don't feel like something is missing. So far we got great reviews by the jazz press out there and already had 4 radio stations playing our music this week. So, really happy how this is developing.
If anyone out there is interested in a physical copy, feel free to contact me if it's complicated on the usual distribution ways.
