Has anybody played the R6? I haven't seen a whole lot of info about it, particularly how it plays compared to the R4

I haven’t but I’ve been thinking about adding braces to my R4 main tuning slide and F attachment in the same places as an experiment.

The main difference isn't the braces on the tuning slide and F attachment, it's the slide crook. There are a lot of variables that can change things up but the main things I noticed about the R6 compared to my R4 is it feels really open, and it centers a little stronger.

I played both back to back at NAMM, and I strongly preferred the R6. The R6 was excellent, and one of the best horns at the show.

The R6 is an idea to make a more American horn. All single radius slides vs R4 all dual radius. In house valve, so they don’t have to outsource. Feels like it has just a bit more mass overall. I think they play great!
