Fantastic! Congrats to her!

One of the most sought after young professional trombonists, she will make the move to her new role after completing her commitments to the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra where she was appointed in 2023.

With a Luxembourg gig, I assume she had to learn Luxembourgish; not to mention German, French and Belgian, if she wanted to have a life (and gigs on the side). Yikes!

I'd hate to have to get by on the French I "learned" in high school.

My kids are both fluent German speakers, and get a kick out of Luxembourgish: Understandable, but not quite the same thing...

Decent place to live, but strangely isolated.

Otherwise, hat's off: the list of trombonists better than I grows again!

She publicly posted about staying close(r) to family.

Which raises the question of why did she audition if she wasn't going to take the job? That makes it hard on the orchestra.

Probably not fair to speculate or criticize an individual's decisions on a public forum when those reasons are none of our business. In every other sector, a job interview is an opportunity for an organization to meet and assess a candidate and decide if they're the right fit for a role. It is also an opportunity for the candidate to do the same. I think we sometimes forget that two-way street in the professional audition circuit because winning a job is such a coveted achievement.

Congrats to her for winning a job, and also good for her to have the fortitude to fully assess the opportunity and decide it was not a good fit. I think we can all agree she has a long, successful career ahead of her.
