Corrosion on slide

So I play on an old silver Bach 42 from the early 80s and I have hyperhydrosis which makes my hands very sweaty. This has caused the area where my left hand goes and where I grip the slide with my right hand to turn black and it even is turning green and starting to flake where I hold the slide. What should I do about this?

Your main option would be to protect the instrument from your sweat, and also to figure out a way to keep your sweat from making the horn hard to grip.

Cotton gloves or latex gloves will protect the horn, but each of those has its own set of problems.
And there are various leather strap-on gizmos that "sorta" work.
Here's another option; a two part clear epoxy in a rattle can.
