Hi. I need to make a list of smooth, romantic ballads played by solo trombone with strings/orchestra and rhythm section accompaniment. Please link to the arrangement you're referring to, if possible. Like this:
"I like Dick Nash playing Hank Mancini's "Too Little Time." Here it is:
I'm hoping to find at least 10 good ones. This is research for a potential project. Can you help me out? Thanks.

There's some lovely stuff on this album but it's not available to listen to online, I think. Emily is wonderful.

Eric, Bert Kaempfert's "I Love You" is just the kind of thing I am looking for. I also love the Rosolino one. He's my favorite jazz trombone player of all-time, though I'm much closer in style to the other guys you suggested.

I always thought a lot of the Tommy Dorsey ballads would work great (sometimes even better) with string orchestra

Ludwig Nuss is such a great player and this is a really nice arrangement.
These could be from Alan Kaplan's recordings, not sure. Also what a great player she is!

Lots of beautiful ballads on Jiggs Whigham’s Brazilian Portrait album.

Don't forget about Alan Kaplan's offerings - Lonely Town is a great album.

That's certainly a wonderful ballad, and is probably what Watrous is best known for besides his cadenza in Fourth Floor Walkup, but it doesn't meet the "rules" of this thread. That's a big band playing, and I'm looking for strings and orchestras with rhythm section.
BTW I'm playing on this.

Just out of curiosity:
Was Watrous part an overdub or did you all record together?

Maybe some of the tracks from Andy Martin's Metropole Orkest album have arrangements for smaller orchestras than Metropole? I'm not sure. Might be worth asking him if you can.
