Hello, I'm wondering if anyone could give me any advice, I recently got a new Jupiter XO 1632 (.500 bore) and I am playing on a Bach 6 1/2 AL. I took a long (few years) break from playing, and used to play a trigger horn with a Bach 5 G, so maybe it feels weird comparing it to that but something feels off (notes don't respond when being slurred to initially, inconsistency issues). A large part of me knows I need to practice consistently, but I have been for months now and something still feels very off. I know a lot of people have recommended Doug Elliot mouthpieces, and I'd love to try one but feel a little lost on where to start. (Doug if you're reading this I definitely welcome any advice!)

Doug and I spent 10 minutes with me playing, then another 20 minutes discussing my "diagnosis." He pointed out a couple fundamental techniques/habits I needed to iron out, as well as some more specific strategies about my individual embouchure. I had a god awful double buzz in the third partial that has since receded, and I'm far more confident on the connection between my face and mouthpiece.
