Well, it's already 2025 here (US East Coast). Wishing all of you the best and healthiest New Year.

This used to be the day we'd open up a new Bunker, which was a sort of chat room. I had to stop doing that when almost nobody was posting there.

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope this new year is your best yet. :)

I'm on the west coast, just staggering out of bed, prying my eyelids open, and pouring as much coffee as possible down my throat. I got to drive home with all the drunks last night. It was an adventure. Finally got to sleep about 3:30 this morning.

My new years resolution is no more New Years Eve gigs. Ugh. I'm too old. Now, where's that coffee pot...

I'm with you on that. I think my worst NYE gig was at a Vermont inn around 100 miles from here. Rode with another member of the band. Got there and the snow started. Made for a very adventurous return home at 2 in the morning. At least the band was good and the gig was fun.

My New Year's Eve gig was ideal - played for ~100+ appreciative folks at a nearby retirement complex here in Southern California. Many danced the night away. Performed from 6:00-9:00pm - when they celebrated the new year on East Coast time! Paid well. Enjoyed the 20-minute drive home on empty roads. Arrived home in time for our own private celebration.

Happy New Year!

Count me out of NYE also, this year I had a good excuse of playing a gig on New Year‘s Day so was a sensible night for me last night.

Started the year in style with a sell out symphonic concert at my local 1200-seater concert hall. Not bad for an amateur group!

Now, that sounds like a wonderful NYE gig. :)

New Years Farmers Blessing

May your abode keep out the wind and rain
May your horse not turn up lame
May your feed trough always be full
May your donuts and coffee always be fresh
May the urine leaving your body never contact the electric fence

Trombonist: "Hey Dana, let's compare New Years resolutions. You go first!"

Me: "Okay. I resolve to not be judgmental of others."

Trombonist: "That's great. I resolve to play low F on V1 from now on, on my 42B."

Me: "I just broke my resolution."
