Has anyone heard of a Courtois 360T Challenger? There is one for sale locally and I’m guessing its a Bach 36 copy. It seems to have a nickel slide. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I had one for awhile, although it was a 360 with a dual-bore .527/.547 nickle-silver slide. It was an excellent horn, definitely comparable to a good Bach 36/42. If it had had an f-attachment, I would not have parted with it, but since I already had a 36B and 42B I found (being 7th-position impared) I rarely played it.

Hi John, I just checked my Courtois catalog, and the 360T is listed as having the dual bore .527/.547 slide, just as mine did. If the slide is stamped ULW 2/3, then it is confirmed.
And if you happen to have a Bach 42, you will be able to swap slides!

Hello Mamaposaune,

Many thanks for posting the information from the catalog. What a curious instrument, it seems to have a 7.5” bell.

All the best,

John

LOL, that made me go back and check since I cut it off in the pic - the catalog lists it as 7.952".

If I ever saw one F.S. with an f-attachment that I could afford, I'd jump on it.
