Edwards Bass Trombone Slide Numbers.

Post by conn88Hagmann »

Hi Guys,

Anyone know what the numbers mean on bass trombone slides? I have a DBBN 60 and a DBBN 20. One look to have rose slide legs and the other yellow, but I can’t find any info on what the numbers actually mean.

Any help gratefully received.

as far as I know those are just assembly numbers. But maybe someone knows more. My '90s DBB is marked 93 on inner and outer.

The numbers are just there to keep them matched during the manufacturing process. In the slide room, they get separated and the numbers just make it easier match your inner and outers.

Makes sense, thanks guys.

So there was never an option for yellow or rose or red slide legs?

They are on the modern B502 slides, I haven't personally seen them on old Edwards but you never know!

Not as a stock option that’s for sure. Maybe something custom. Never know what has been done over the years!

I think it's a number to help match the inner slide with the outer. Check the bottom of the lower tube of the outer slide near the top. There should be a matching number.

I had an Edwards slide with gold brass outer tubes back in the mid 90's.
