The hi-tech brand name

Post by robcat2075 »

It's a fair price, but still... somehow... I remain concerned.

In "Idiocracy", that is how the brand name would start.

Hah. Have to be careful buying storage. Super common problem these days is to basically have the part of the hardware that declares how large it is to lie to the OS. It'll happily accept writes, even >100%. Everything works great! Until you go to retrieve data that's now be overwritten because the hardware dutifully keeps writing. Fun fact, you can actually write an infinite amount to such bogus storage devices, because they will never send the signal that they are full!

Yeah, that's probably bogus. The real one is on Amazon for $10 more -- so probably okay.

A promising deal on AliExpress: An 8TB(or 4TB? or 1TB?) SSD for just $1.05 from "SUMANG". 50% off!

But the watermark on the photo says "SAMSNUG".

Ironically, Samsnug would be an awesome name for a generic Snuggy™
