Hi all,

I bought this Alexander rotary bass trumpet last year and wondered if anyone knew anything about the era of the instrument and how common this make is. I’ll link some photos below, an information would be greatly appreciated!

You apparently haven't made the folder publicly accessible.

Alexander is most noted for their French Horns, which are outstanding.

I play tested a bass trombone in F (with C attachment) once, but couldn't justify it.

Alexander instruments are very high quality.

Yours looks like an unbranded one I have from 1912. Bet it plays a lot better, though.

I don’t know about that era but I had a newer (90s) Alex bass trumpet in C with Bb slides. Loved it but sold it because I just didn’t use it enough.
Also
Played an Alex contra from around the same time and I liked it but I don’t put much faith in my contra opinions. Not enough time on the instrument.

That looks like a larger bore beer hall bass trumpet rather than a narrow bore orchestral bass trumpet. Interesting that it's in C, as beer hall bass trumpets are usually in Bb. Cool horn!
