Don't bend the grip to often

Post by rizzo67 »

That's what you get if you can't stop adjusting the get-a-grip.
Changing the plate after cutting it from an aluminum sheet wasn't that difficult.
Just open one side of the weld, the one not showing to you, take the alu out, make a model and draw it on the sheet.
A normal jigsaw suffices to cut it, some sandpaper, a bit hot glue and stitch up the leather.
After repairing the original grip I did a second one just without the cushion, but with leather only.
The biggest problem is bending the flat grip to fit the trombone.
First bend the side surrounding the tubing and hold the other side so that there is an angle of about 45 degree, then bend the side for your hand. I did it the other way and had to saw a second plate ;)
