Hey fellow boners. I have started a new music podcast which I hope will be of interest to some of you. It's called Strike Up The Band. I plan to try to interview musicians from a wide variety of genres, not just brass players, although brass players will be prominant as I know lots of them. My first interview was with Nashville studio trumpeter Vinny Cieslielski and we spent an hour talking about his process for commercial recording, among other things. I have some other great guests already lined up, including our own Alex Illes, trumpeter/composer/arranger/band leader Elliot Deutsch, Philip Harper of the Cory Band, and the music director of a nearby symphony. I hope it will be a show that musicians enjoy.

Thanks to Harrison for pointing out that my audio needed some improvement. I went back and re-rendered the file and it sounds a lot better now. I am doing my interview with Alex Illes this Friday, so that one should be good.

I met him at the STS seminar last summer and he was just super nice. It should be a good show. I'm not trying to be another Brass Junkies - I don't care about how somebody won their audition to the Podunk symphony. I'm more interested in learning how musicians get things done on a regular basis.
