I haven't played bass trombone in a few years, but I am curious as to what is currently out there that is bigger than a Schilke 59 but smaller than a 60. The last time I was serious about the horn, I was using a Griego .75 and then a Loud stainless steel that was similar in size if not an exact copy.
What have I missed in the past few years?

My LB 113, L*, L8* is just about halfway between them.

There's the Yeo mouthpiece, which is quite nice.

I can do one in between as well.

Like Doug said, his 113 rim is between a 59 and a 60. I’ve also tried a Greg Black 1 5/16 which is similar, as well as the Griego Markey 87.

I currently play on a Ferguson JR, which is a replica of the minick Jeff Reynolds one off custom piece. They market it as being between a 59 and 60, but rim diameter is the same as the 59, going by "published specifications".

The Griego GP and Markey 87 also are somewhere in between, but again that's only by published specs for the rim diameter.

If you really want to dial it in, Doug Elliott is probably the best choice, as he offers different rim diameters, which was one of my issues with the larger bass pieces: I don't get along with thin rims.

Doug offers medium wide (mW) and wide (W) rims. The lexan rims don't feel as sharp as the plated brass versions IMHO.

Markey 87 is a solid choice... loving mine at the moment.

If you like the Wedge mouthpieces design , you can try a mpc that I developed years ago (from 2015) with Dr Dave : the Giannini 114D (originally named Giannini 1G/S59) .

This piece have a 1.14 inches (28.96 mm) ID , a cup fully based on a Schilke 59 , and a 0.310 inches throat .

It combines a quite large rim with the super- efficient 59 cup , and a throat in between the 60 and 59 models .
I still play exclusively on this mouthpiece ; I find it really good .

I'm currently playing a Benge 59 and can't find any specs on it, I assume similar to the Schilke 59?

I've always liked the Griego .75 - I've used the Deco blank because it keeps the sound more focused, but it doesn't play like a heavy mouthpiece at all.

I always use a Wedge now. I really like how the rim feels, and it seems to respond very easily and I can achieve a full resonant sound. Even though it is as big as a Schilke 60 or Bach 1G, it feels smaller and plays very efficiently. I don't even remember the model number without looking at it. I got it around three years ago and looking at the website, it looks like there's a new generation of mouthpieces now.
