Metric drill bit sets

Any techs out there know where I can find the following.....

Metric drill bit set from 5 mm to 10 mm by .1 mm increments

Through online searches, I am able to find complete sets from 1 mm to 6 mm. But those bits are mostly too small for my needs. A complete set by .1 mm increments for 5mm to 15mm would be amazing, but for now I will settle for a complete set from 5mm to 10mm. Thanks!

Have you tried MSC?

You may need to order individual sizes instead of a set. That's what I usually do, especially to fill in previous sets that are missing sizes.

I don't know about sets, but you could certainly go the McMaster route: https://www.mcmaster.com/drill-bits/dri ... nt~metric/

Looks like they come in at about $1 per mm. Seems on the high side, but McMaster generally is.

Locally, there's a company called KC Tool that's in that space, though I suspect supply chain issues are hitting them like everyone else. If you want, I can drop by and see what they can do.

Also in the priced-accordingly realm is https://www.grainger.com/product/CHICAG ... 1-00-2VTE5 . But you know it'll be top-notch.

Thanks everyone! I have ordered taps and dies from McMaster-Carr before, so I should have thought to go directly to their website. Funny how some of the search engines completely avoid the vendors that have exactly what you are searching for.

Sorry about the Grainger link. Supply chain again!

Yes, the search engines took me in that direction. MSC offers a 1mm to 6mm set, but no other sets that have increments of .1mm

Looks like McMaster-Carr has a larger selection of "metric sets." Although, I doubt I am going to save any cash by buying the set.

"Sets" usually end up having just a few of what you actually need! Like tap & die sets.

I always find it easier to but the size I need and maybe 1 above & below.

That's a point that I am considering. Do I want to spend $200-300 on a set when I presently only see 5 or 6 sizes that I would frequently use? ....But then again, when I bought my complete "standard set" (1-60 bits, letter sizes and inch fraction sizes) about 20 years ago, I looked at that 115 bit set and thought...."I will never use most of these." As it turned out I have used every one of them. The smaller bits for instrument-related things and the larger bits for working with wood.

Those "in-between" metric sizes could come in handy for many things. I just wish the metric sets were about 50% cheaper!

McMaster was never a bargain brand. If you want cheap try Harbor Freight (and be prepared to get Jin Bao quality).

These should be labelled: "Suitable for aluminum!"
