Hi all,

We were lucky to have the Mingus Big Band in town two weeks ago. It was my first time seeing them after missing out in NYC back in 2014 (Mondays and work don't mix well). Just a really fun concert.

Reeds: Scott Robinson, Abraham Burton, Steve Slagle, Lauren Sevian, Sara Hanahan
Trombones: Robin Eubanks, Conrad Herwig, Earl McIntyre
Trumpets: Alex Sipiagin, Dr. Alexander Pope-Norris, Philip Harper
Rhythm: David Kikoski, Boris Kozlov, Donald Edwards

We were really lucky to have these guys: apparently it was just a quick tour. Turnout was... disappointing, though. Maybe 100 people in a theater that holds 500. Covid? Poor marketing? But I got to see one of my heroes (Robin Eubanks), and got to see Earl McIntyre do a tuba solo, so I got enough of it in my soul.

Heard them a few weeks ago in DC at the Kennedy Center.
Sold out, I bought the last two tickets.

Glad to hear they got a better reception in D.C., Doug. Was the lineup the same? I know they shuffle around a bit.
