DW 12CS Gold

Anyone have experience with these?
Thanks. I've never had any issues with modern mps on my Olds horns.Posaunus wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 6:07 pm Nothing wrong with these mouthpieces. Slightly larger cup & throat than a Bach 12C, which I find helpful. But the shanks will be too large for your Olds trombones (which have "undersized" receivers), so may be out of tune / not slot well compared to Olds mouthpieces, which have the "proper" shank. If you like a larger mouthpiece, you may want to search out an Olds 1 - it's about the same size as the DW 12CS (even larger throat), slightly different cup shape, but will fit the Olds trombone receivers perfectly. Or use the DW 12CS on the BAC LA Jazz horn.

Good for you.officermayo wrote: Sat Dec 18, 2021 9:16 pm Well, the mp arrived this evening.
Right out of the box I was able to sustain a solid high E for the first time since I began playing in 1972.
Pedals are also solid.
What witchcraft is this?

Using the BAC?
Well, as the big band is on holiday hiatus and I have no upcoming gigs for the rest of the year, I'll be playing those Es in my basement/mancave/studio.Posaunus wrote: Sun Dec 19, 2021 4:43 pm I"d love to hear you play those high E notes.
Where to you get to play them?
I've seen a few high Fs, but very few Es written.
As a practical matter, I bail out after D these days!![]()
