King 2b+/3b slide compatibility?

Probably a quick question: I have read elsewhere on the forum that the 2b+ slide is compatible with 3b/3bf bell sections. I’m assuming, based on Kings consistency in design over the years, that the compatibility applies to all eras? I’m interested in finding a 2b+ slide but my 3bf is from the ‘70s - would a newer 2b+ slide fit? I know king stopped making the plus for a while, did the tenon change at any point?
