I have some sheet music and have no idea what the piece is!

I have some kids doing honor band auditions and they received this excerpt from a solo piece. This might be a Euphonium solo? I'm not really sure. Could be a Cornet solo for all I know.

I think it's intended to be sightreading and it's not from anything else.

Maybe? The other pieces for all the other instruments are well known etudes or solo pieces... I'm not sure why the Euphonium stuff wouldn't be either.

As long as everybody on each instrument is on a level playing field, it shouldn't matter.

Call me corrected! I just heard from the director. They are just two random melodic lines.
No wonder I couldn't recognize them
