I think "irreverent" would be a better term for it...

I think it's funny, and hopefully most trombone players have the right combination of a thick skin and a sense of humor to recognize that.

Tacky.

I did not find it very funny.

Best wishes to all concerned.

Go practice. Do something productive. Your "press response", which should be apologetic, is even cringeworthy.

And maybe the mods could take this thread down.

Dude, 1000 views from using a clickbait title with a real musician's name in the title is nothing to be proud of. That's nothing, so get over yourself. "Peter Steiner is not as famous but a technically good trombonist"..."No matter how good something is"..."I have to respect Joe's wishes". Wow, what a hole to dig... You're trying to dig yourself out, but that hole is just getting deeper.

I had avoided clicking on any of the strange "what is a discord project?" links you've posted here, and I'm glad I did.

And it's probably not even legal to use the video.

This guy's been banned from multiple online communities already. Beware.

I'll condense it for you: there's no such thing. They're just multitrack recordings coordinated through the Discord chat app. That's it, that's all.

EDIT: Just realized I only have 8 posts here. I assure you I'm not some sock puppet here to bash people--I date from the Trombone Forum days. I'm just not active. I heard about this post and had to issue a warning.

I also wanted to stay out of this but don't want the discord server to get mixed up in this. To echo what Justin said, the original poster (tromboneJB) was permanently banned from the discord trombone community in March and doesn't represent our online server or members in any way. Discord is just a chat platform and the trombone group hosted on the discord platform has been slowly building relationships with professionals who have been giving masterclasses for our younger student trombonists. (I'm the guy who has been organizing/posting the masterclass announcements in the Events section of trombonechat.)

There are a lot of young (high school / college-aged) aspiring trombonists who regularly use the discord server and I don't want to get their reputations mixed up with the negative reaction to JB's video. I hope that all makes sense.
