Looking for multiple olds

Post by Elow » Thu Jul 30, 2020 1:43 am

First thing is a super with a bear counterweight, I’m 80% sure these exists, or i saw an aftermarket one at a convention. The counterweight was super cool and the owner let me try it and i loved it. Anyways, i’m looking to buy one for myself. Also interested in military model, hammered bell is a plus. I want a bass too, not sure what model though, i’m looking for something small, but not those god awful tiny rotors. Played one and did not like it one bit. Maybe a studio, only to match my cornet so probably not going to pay much. Send me an email or PM of what you have. I will do trades if you’re into that

The bear counterweight was standard on the first version of the Super; the one without a tone ring.

The later Supers usually shipped without a counterweight; if they did have one, it was a relatively plain "hockey puck" shape. Olds did offer a clamp-on bear as an accessory at one time, but I don't recall ever seeing one.

I’m going to sadly have to put this search on hold, i just crunched my euph valve set and i imagine it’s not going to be cheap to repair.

It fell out of the back of a car and the hard case doesn’t have much padded stuff near the knuckles and squished them into the valve and valve casing. If i pull each one then they work pretty good, but as soon as i let go it doesn’t move an inch and i’m not forcing it.
