FS: 20 Pièces Mélodiques for trombone

Post by Posaunus » Tue Jul 28, 2020 11:34 pm

Having been confined for months due to the Covid quarantine, but wanting to maintain my trombone chops, I have purchased a lot of music to play here at home. Some of it has been methods, exercises, and études to improve my technique, some has been potential performance pieces (mostly with piano accompaniment) to explore playing when the quarantine is over, and some has just been for fun (Gershwin and other Broadway tunes, etc.)

The most recent acquisition was one that I thought would be a challenge - 20 "melodic pieces" by Yves Bordères, who is apparently professor of trombone at the Paris Conservatoire.

This is what I read before purchase:
Bordères, Yves
Pièces Mélodiques (20)
20 advanced études that explore the range of the trombone. Each is a one- or two-page work that can easily be classified as a character piece. Indeed these are occasionally used on recitals. The volume makes liberal use of tenor and bass clef.

When I received this the other day, I realized that I am in over my head. The pieces are interesting – very French Conservatory – but challenging enough that I will never spend the time to play them well.

Sheet Music Plus price was $25.99 + $5.98 shipping (took >2 months to get here!).

If you want some challenging études, I will send them to you for $20 including shipping.

Let me know if you're interested.
