FS King 2b - BAC custom - $800+shipping

Post by droffilcal » Wed Jul 15, 2020 9:08 pm

FS: excellent '40s vintage King 2b customized by BAC

This 2b is in great shape overall, no significant dents or dings. The horn is mechanically solid, everything works as it should. There is lacquer wear of course, and the tiniest hint of wear on one inner tube, barely perceptible, but this horn is a real survivor at 75-ish years old!

Bell: serial #268XXX. This bell is very resonant and lively. It sounds dark and velvety at lower volume levels, quite a big, full sound; but step on the gas and it gets after it -- really projects. BAC modified the shoulder pipe slightly to create a little more room to operate, very comfortable to hold. No counterweight on this lightweight horn, but I could include an aftermarket one for an additional $50.

Slide: serial #299XXX. Slide was customized by BAC: oversleeves were removed, a lighter, smaller right hand brace put on, and a lighter "trumpet-style" water key was installed. This slide is light! And fast! I'm not a fan of lightweight slides, but this one feels great, action is smooth and quick -- it's not perfect, but it's very, very good. The slide blows nice and free, very responsive, with a big, clear sound full of core.

Original case is long gone, I could throw in a beater case if needed. King M21 mouthpiece also available for free if desired.

Asking $800+actual shipping cost. See pics here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/dTLGpjdZULaA4jtR7
